{"id":3033,"date":"2012-05-28T18:15:06","date_gmt":"2012-05-28T18:15:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/martha.org.mx\/una-politica-con-causa\/?p=3033"},"modified":"2019-07-29T21:25:53","modified_gmt":"2019-07-29T21:25:53","slug":"cca-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/martha.org.mx\/una-politica-con-causa\/cca-2\/","title":{"rendered":"CCA"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cec.org\/\">Commission for Environmental Cooperation<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Three countries working together to protect our&nbsp;<em>shared<\/em>&nbsp;environment<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 1994, Canada, Mexico and the United States have collaborated in protecting North America&#8217;s environment through the North American Agreement on Environmental Cooperation (NAAEC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The NAAEC came into force at the same time as the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and marks a commitment that liberalization of trade and economic growth in North America would be accompanied by effective cooperation and continuous improvement in the environmental protection provided by each country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Accordingly, the NAAEC established an intergovernmental organization &#8211; the Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) &#8211; to&nbsp;support cooperation among the NAFTA partners to address environmental issues of continental concern, including the environmental challenges and opportunities presented by continent-wide free trade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CEC comprises a Council, a Secretariat and a Joint Public Advisory Committee.&nbsp;The Council is the governing body of the Commission and comprises cabinet-level or equivalent representatives of each country. The Secretariat provides technical, administrative and operational support to the Council. The Joint Public Advisory Committee (JPAC) &#8211; five citizens from each country &#8211; advises Council on any matter within the scope of the NAAEC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CEC receives financial support of the Government of Canada through the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ec.gc.ca\/default.asp?lang=en\">Federal Department of Environment<\/a>, the Government of the United States of Mexico, through the&nbsp;<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.semarnat.gob.mx\/Pages\/Inicio.aspx\">Secretar\u00eda de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales<\/a><\/em>, and&nbsp;the Government of the United States of America through the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.epa.gov\/\">Environmental Protection Agency<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Comisi\u00f3n para la Cooperaci\u00f3n Ambiental<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":5608,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[70,27],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-3033","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-organizaciones","category-trayectoria-ambientalista-martha-delgado"],"aioseo_notices":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/martha.org.mx\/una-politica-con-causa\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3033","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/martha.org.mx\/una-politica-con-causa\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/martha.org.mx\/una-politica-con-causa\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/martha.org.mx\/una-politica-con-causa\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/martha.org.mx\/una-politica-con-causa\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=3033"}],"version-history":[{"count":2,"href":"https:\/\/martha.org.mx\/una-politica-con-causa\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3033\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":5609,"href":"https:\/\/martha.org.mx\/una-politica-con-causa\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3033\/revisions\/5609"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/martha.org.mx\/una-politica-con-causa\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/5608"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/martha.org.mx\/una-politica-con-causa\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=3033"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/martha.org.mx\/una-politica-con-causa\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=3033"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/martha.org.mx\/una-politica-con-causa\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=3033"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
